We kick off Octoborror with the award winning short fiction editor Ellen Datlow! During our chat we talk about the process of creating anthologies, namely Nightshade Book’s latest BEST HORROR OF THE YEAR VOL.8, a compilation of 2015’s best horror stories edited Ellen Datlow. Ellen’s been editing anthologies for over 35 year (which adds up to over 100 titles!) and she just so happened to win her SEVENTH Hugo Award. We discuss why Ellen thinks we’re living in a “golden age of short horror fiction”, the differences between dark fantasy and horror fiction, tips for writers trying to break into the horror short fiction market, and more.
